Liwa is purified drinking water produced in Abu Dhabi: multi-stage filtration, reverse osmosis, UV sterilisation and ozonation, re-mineralised for a light, low-sodium taste, and tested batch by batch in our laboratory and by accredited external labs.
What Kind of Water Is Liwa?
Liwa is purified drinking water (not natural mineral water). Source water is treated by sediment and carbon filtration, reverse osmosis, ultraviolet sterilisation and ozonation, then balanced with a light mineral profile so it tastes clean and refreshing rather than flat. Parameters We Test in Every Batch
- Physical: pH, total dissolved solids (TDS), turbidity, colour, odour and taste.
- Chemical: sodium, calcium, magnesium, potassium, chloride, sulphate, nitrate, fluoride, residual ozone and heavy metals.
- Microbiological: total plate count, coliforms, E. coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
- Packaging: seal integrity, tamper-evident cap, bottle hygiene and batch coding for traceability.
Standards We Comply With
Production runs under an ISO 22000:2018 food safety management system with HACCP controls, is OSHAD-aligned and approved by the Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre (ADPHC), and follows UAE and GCC bottled drinking water specifications. Low Sodium, Balanced Minerals
Because reverse osmosis removes almost everything, we add back a controlled, low level of minerals for taste. The result is low-sodium water suitable for daily drinking by the whole family, for cooking, and for infant formula preparation after boiling as advised by your paediatrician.

Packaging Materials
Small bottles (150ml–1.5L) are food-grade PET, a BPA-free plastic. 5 gallon returnable bottles are food-grade polycarbonate, sanitised and inspected on every cycle; one-time-use 5G bottles are PET. All caps are tamper-evident.

Is Liwa water mineral water or purified water?
Liwa is purified drinking water produced by reverse osmosis, UV and ozonation with a light, controlled mineral balance added for taste.
Is Liwa water low in sodium?
Yes. Reverse osmosis removes sodium and a controlled low level of minerals is added back; exact values are shown on the certificate of analysis available on request.
Can I get a lab report for Liwa water?
Yes. Business and institutional clients can request the latest certificate of analysis and ISO/HACCP certificates from our sales team.
Is Liwa water safe for babies?
Liwa purified water is suitable for preparing infant formula following your paediatrician’s guidance (boil and cool before use).
Are the bottles BPA-free?
Small PET bottles and one-time-use 5G bottles are BPA-free PET; returnable 5 gallon bottles are food-grade polycarbonate sanitised on every cycle.
